The ambition

Build the Data capability behind a new bank.

Creating a new bank meant finding the people to build its Data capability from the ground up. When our client approached us to hire the team, the architecture needed to support the business from launch and scale as the organisation grew.

Built around Snowflake and AWS, the bank needed specialists capable of taking a greenfield Data environment from concept to production, while operating within the security, reliability and regulatory demands of financial services.

The challenge

The technology narrowed the field. The environment narrowed it again.

Finding people with the depth of experience across Python, Kafka, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake and AWS already reduced the field considerably.

But technical experience alone wasn’t enough. There was no established platform to inherit or mature environment to optimise. They needed to build critical infrastructure from the ground up while navigating the reliability, security and performance demands of a regulated bank.
